Diet is very important, especially when you are expecting a baby. A proper diet and nutrition plan prior to conception is essential for the good health and development of your baby. Everyone is different, which means there is not one diet or nutrition plan that fits every mother-to-be. Your personalized plan is based on your medical status, weight, and eating habits. Eating the right foods with proper nutrients will help decrease inflammation, regulate blood sugar, and help with other pregnancy symptoms such as nausea and constipation.

Strep B-Prevention

Group B Streptococcus (GBS) is a common bacteria that pregnant women may carry in their lower genital tract. It can come and go; you may carry the bacteria and not show any symptoms, but if it is transmitted to your baby during childbirth, it can be dangerous. If you are prone to yeast infections, use chronic antibiotics for acne and other bacterial infections, or if you suffer from gonorrhoea, cervical dysplasia, or genital herpes you may be susceptible to strep-B. Natural remedies such as lifestyle modification, proper nutrition, and supplementing with herbs help to modify your flora so you will not have to rely on antibiotics for strep B during your pregnancy or labour.
